Therese Rosengren: Drawn into IT by fast growth and career opportunities
“I wanted to be part of an exciting and challenging IT industry, one that is growing fast and where there is strong demand for qualified professionals.”
– Therese Rosengren, Team Manager Digital Trust, Epical
Mentorship and support make a big difference
Like so many young people, I struggled to find my path in the beginning. I first studied office and marketing management, without really knowing what I wanted to do. It took me a few years to figure things out, and when I turned 23, I decided to go back to school to study IT Networking.
What truly made a difference for me was having a great mentor by my side during my studies, someone who helped me build contacts and find an internship opportunity within the industry. Already while I was in school, I had strong support that opened doors and gave me confidence.
That’s when I really understood how important it is to surround yourself with people who support you, believe in you, and encourage you to reach your goals. 🤝
Working with IT security in today’s world feels meaningful
I was drawn to the IT field because it is both exciting and challenging, and because it is an industry that continues to grow rapidly. There is a constant demand for qualified professionals, and it offers a wide range of opportunities, especially if you have the right mindset.
As my journey within IT continued, my passion gradually shifted towards IT security and leadership. Today, I work as a Team Manager within our Digital Trust business area at Epical. Together with my team of experts in Sweden and Finland, we focus on delivering comprehensive Identity and Access Management solutions, securing access controls as well as identity governance and administration architecture.
Working with security today feels truly meaningful and comes with many opportunities to make a real difference. 🔐✨
Woman in tech for 24 years
If you ask me, gender doesn’t matter, and that mindset is something we all need to embrace. Many things have changed over the years, and the situation today is much better than it was 15 years ago. Still, I’ve found it challenging to attract more women to join my team.
Real change starts with ourselves and our mindset. Have the courage to speak up and believe in yourself. If you want it, you can do it. Surround yourself with mentors and people who support you and encourage you along the way. In the end, it’s all about people. 🚀
